Action Figure Photography
I have always loved and collected action figures.
As far back as I can remember, I have played with or staged my toys as if they were alive, or in a movie. Over the years, toys increased in detail and paint applications, and as a result, fans and collectors’ tastes changed with the times.
As I got older I began to display my vast collections in ways that mimicked action scenes from movies or comic books, and found others like myself online, who shared the same hobbies. This eventually led to my buying a digital camera to share my collections, and participate in “action photo” challenges with other fans.
I then bought a better camera to showcase my hobby, and made a concerted effort to set up and shoot my photos like I was shooting a live movie with real actors. I have gotten some great responses to my work, and even have it suggested to me that I should shoot some of these toys as promotional images for some of the toy companies. While I wouldn’t turn down that chance, it is not why I have started this hobby. I enjoy showcasing cool toys in ways that others may not see them.
